Many go through life wondering, “How many people think of me and care?” Working with Make-A-Wish Utah, learning about this young man and his family’s story, planning for this moment together, then granting his “Wish,” together, we were finally introduced to Kyson. Katy Higgins said with genuine emotion that she already “knew him.” It was a magical moment. Kyson, his family, and Make-A-Wish Utah will remain in the memories of all of us involved forever.
The lovely Summer Ehrmann and the caring team at Make-A-Wish Utah led the night. Before Kyson and his family arrived, she shared stories with about 100 Utah tradespeople about meaningful moments when children’s lives were changed. A majority wearing baseball jerseys with Kyson’s name; every tradesperson there was visibly moved and impacted. This Day of the Trades event at Make-A-Wish (Utah) will be remembered by all of us there that night.
It was attended by Kyson’s family, including his parents, grandparents, and other extended family, who surrounded him with love. And over 100 tradespeople were involved in granting Kyson’s Wish. The trades were represented by Katy Higgins, CEO of TruePros Plumbing & HVAC, who revealed and granted Kyson’s Wish, and Carrie Kelsch from A+ Garage Doors, who joined Make-A-Wish, ServiceTitan, and other Utah tradespeople on December 12th each year. All of us were there rooting for Kyson.
Katy Higgins, CEO of TruePros Plumbing & HVAC in Utah, and Carrie Kelsch, CEO of another Utah woman-owned, woman-run A+ Garage Doors, along with other Utah trades companies, announced that Kyson’s wish to visit Walt Disney World is officially being granted! This video is Kyson and his family’s special moment when Katy Higgins from TruePros, A+ Garage Doors, and the Utah Trades granted his Make-A-Wish Utah wish. Kyson endeared himself to each of us forever who took part.
For all of us Utah Tradespeople lucky enough to be there, we were changed forever. We will always think about Kyson around Christmas.
